Try These 5 Duochrome Floating Liner Looks

February 22, 2022

It seems like floating eyeliner will be hovering around for the long haul. Whether you’ve become a pro at executing abstract eye designs or trying the trend for the first time, here are 5 step-by-step floating liner looks for a variety of eye shapes.

Switch it up by using a color-shifting eye pencil to draw artful lines for a hypnotizing, duochrome smolder.

For Almond Eyes

This chic look lets your eyes tell the story–and everyone will just have to read between the lines. Grab the Danessa Myricks Beauty Infinite Chrome Pencil in Jadefor precise results that shift between seafoam green and periwinkle.

First, sweep this shade above the highest part of your crease. Start slightly below your inner brow and extend it past where your brow ends to create a dramatic wing. Repeat this step to intensify the color. Then, create a cat-eye wing along your upper lash line. Swipe on mascara to seal in the look.

For Hooded Eyes

Double up on liners for a burst of colorful dimension from all angles. Try out this two-toned pink look using Danessa Myricks Beauty Infinite Chrome Pencil in Morganite and Rose Quartz.

Sweep Rose Quartz along the skin slightly below your brow to create a muted yellow and coral pink-hued arc. Extend the line toward the outer corner of your eye, without passing the end of your brow. With the shade Morganite, trace the area around your tear duct for a pop of seashell pink with a cream beige reflection.

For Monolid Eyes

Create crisp, night out eyes with this head-turning copper-gold design. Reach for Danessa Myricks Beauty Infinite Chrome Pencil in Bronzite for this graphic look.

Begin by creating a line along the outer corner of your eye and flick it out toward the end of your brow. Once you’ve created a wing, trace an arc above your eye socket that connects the wing and ends above your tear duct. Repeat application for a high-impact finish.

For Round Eyes

Frame your eyes with precision for a feline-like smolder. Pick up Danessa Myricks Beauty Infinite Chrome Pencil in Lilac Quartz for a periwinkle and lilac-colored editorial look.

Line your upper lash line and extend the wing past the end of your brow. Then, drag the color in the opposite direction, past your tear duct. Starting from your wing, trace an arc slightly below your lower lash line and connect it to the line extending past your tear duct.

For Downturned Eyes

Craft an edgy, flat-line look in under five minutes with a burst of gold and lime green color. Use Danessa Myricks Beauty Infinite Chrome Pencil in Lemon Quartz to highlight your eyes.

On the skin directly above your crease, draw a short straight line starting from the center and extending toward the end of your brow. With the pencil, create a wing along your upper lash line to complete the look.
